Ibn Haldun University Gulf Studies and Global Policies Center (GSGP) is an interdisciplinary research and think tank platform that examines the countries in the Gulf region in terms of their historical depth, current transformations, and interactions with international politics.
The Center aims to examine the political, economic, social, and cultural dynamics of the region with a comprehensive and original approach. In this context, it aims to make a lasting and qualitative contribution to global Gulf studies with a broad methodological framework ranging from archival sources to current academic literature, from field research to comparative analysis.
In addition to producing academic knowledge, the Gulf Studies and Global Policies Center aims to guide global policy debates and prepare a scientific basis for decision-making processes by producing strategic analyses. It is the first institution in Turkey to operate in this field. Political systems, foreign policy, security, geopolitical competition, regional security architecture, energy security, economic diversification policies, climate change and environmental threats, digitalization, and social change are among the center's main areas of focus. Reports, strategy documents, and thematic studies produced in this context are presented to academic circles, policymakers, media organizations, and the general public.
The Gulf Studies and Global Policies Center organizes regular seminar programs, workshops, and international conferences.
